I will be having surgery on my hand on Monday April 30,at 7:30 am in Syracuse at the Harrisson Street Specialist. It will be about an 3 hr procedure. They will run rods up through my hand starting at the wrist to the tips of my fingers for my tendons. There Will be 2 rods for the index and middle finger and 1 rod for my ring finger. They Will take the nerve bundles from my foot and put them in my hand so I can have felling in my fingers again. If needed they will also use the tendons from my foot as well if the ones in my hand isn't usable. It's amazing what they can do for you anymore. So I won't be losing any fingers or thumb but have along road back to normal. Must have the rods in for at least 3 months, then will need to go back to have them removed, then go through therapy. Thanks for everyone's prayers and thoughts will keep you all posted.

Just to let you all know. William went to Syracuse on Wednesday but they couldn't do anything on the hand because it was still too swollen. He has to go back next week. And as if his hand isn't bad enough, him and Barb lost a wheel bearing on the truck the way home and had to be towed in. Lets continue to give them our support, prayers and keep them in our thoughts. I got the info from Mom so if it isn't entirely correct its her fault!! Love ya, Mom

Grandma writes, The other day I went to the local Christian book store
and saw a honk if you love Jesus bumper sticker.
I was feeling particularly sassy that day because I had
just come from a thrilling choir practice, followed
by a thunderous prayer meeting, so I bought the
sticker and put it on my bumper.
On my way home I was stopped at a red light at a
busy intersection, just lost in the thought about the
Lord and how good He is. I didn't notice the light
had changed.
It's a good thing someone else loves Jesus because
if he hadn't honked, I'd never have noticed.
I found that lots of people love Jesus.
Why ? Well, while I was sitting there, the guy behind me
started honking like crazy, and then he leaned
out and screamed, "for the love of God, Go! Go!"
What a cheerleader he was for Jesus.
Everyone started honking !
I just leaned out my window and started waving
and smiling at all these loving people. I even
honked my horn a few times to share in the love.
I saw one guy waving with only his middle finger
stuck up in the air. When I asked my teenage
grandson in the back seat what that meant, he
said it was probably a Hawaiian good luck sign
or something. So I leaned out and gave him the
good luck sign back. My grandson burst out
laughing, even he was enjoying this religious
experience right along with me.
A couple of people were so caught up in the joy
they got out of their cars and started toward me.
I bet they wanted to pray or ask what church I
attended, but this is when I noticed the light
had changed...
So, I waved to all my sisters and brothers, and
drove on through the intersection. I noticed I
was the only car that got through before the light
changed again and I felt kind of sad that I had to
leave after all the love we had shared.
So, I slowed my car down , leaned out my window
and gave them all the Hawaiian good luck sign
one last time as I drove away.
Praise the Lord for such wonderful folks !

Love, Grandma....

Happy Birthday, Nick. Can't believe you are 7 years old already!! Love ya. Aunt Joan

Just a quick note to let everyone know that Brian arrived safely in
Kuwait
this afternoon about 3:00pm my time. No other news as I have not heard
directly from him yet. I am the senior wife in his troop so I am
considered
the leader of the wives so the commander contacts me with info and he
sent
me a text saying that the plane had landed and they were unloading
their
stuff. He will remain in Kuwait for about 2 to 3 weeks then he is
scheduled to go into Iraq and as it stands right now it will be Camp
Taji
which is 20 miles north of Baghdad in the Suni Triangle. Hope you are
all
doing well.

Here is an update on William. As most of you know, William had an accident while working on Mom's garage last Sat. He was cutting a board lengthwise and accidentally cut his left hand with a circular saw. He cut the palm of his hand from the thumb to the little finger. I will not go into all the details, but he is doing better. He went to Susquehanna hospital after the accident and they shipped him to Sayre. He came home Sunday. Had to go back on Tue and they have done all they can do for him there and he now has to go to Syracuse for the rest of the treatments. They have to reconstruct the hand and do plastic surgery and a lot of therapy. He goes back on the 18th of April to start the process. He will be out of work for quit some time so lets keep him and his family in our prayers. Will keep you all informed of his progress as I get them. We all love you William , and just so glad that it wasn't any worse than it was. Also want to thank Graydon for being there when it first happened and the help he gave him until Barb and Jesse got there. Also Mom tried to help but was so scared and upset, but did the best she could. She also needs our support because she is still very worried about William although she knows he will be alright. Also thank you Barb and Jesse for your quick reaction in taking him to hospital before the ambulance got there!! Love you all Joan
